Director of Business Development

Fluence Analytics is a New Orleans based startup company that delivers patented realtime process analytics hardware and software products to the $1 trillion per year polymer industry and the $160 billion per year biopharma industry. Our technologies enhance our customers production efficiency, R&D, safety, and profitability.

Fluence Analytics is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated, experienced, full-time Director of Business Development who will work closely with the CEO to lead the company’s revenue activities for Fluence Analytics' ACOMP product line, including developing sales plans and processes, engaging with prospects, establishing strategic sales partnerships and providing customer requirements to the engineering team. The Director of Business Development will work with the team to rapidly grow revenue in the target markets.

Previous experience working in business development or sales roles in or serving the chemical process industries is critical.


Key responsibilities

  1. Learn the ACOMP product and value proposition quickly.
  2. Develop and manage the sales pipeline from initial contact to close in order to generate revenue from company products and services.
  3. Execute sales activity e.g. digital outreach, calls, visits, conferences & trade shows (assess and develop plan for attending/presenting at most relevant forums).
  4. Design and implement processes for sales, particularly required materials, interfacing with engineering and developing a plan for building out a sales team and/or partnerships.
  5. Identify, segment and target short-term and long-term opportunities for company offerings.
  6. Work with engineering and management to refine company offerings and develop priorities for product roadmaps driven by customer feedback and new income opportunities.
  7. Record and document activities in company CRM and other digital tools.
  8. Capture customer requirements through the sales process.
